Our story
In practice since 2004, Maya is a skilled negotiator and litigator with extensive courtroom experience. She has achieved excellent results in a wide range of high-net-worth cases with complex issues, including high-conflict child custody and support matters. Maya has been acknowledged as a “Washington Super Lawyers Rising Star” and most recently has been recognized as a “Washington Super Lawyer” every year since 2017. Maya also volunteers with CASA, a not-for-profit organization serving at-risk youth in the King County area. She was also recently recognized as one of 500 Leading U.S. Family Lawyers by Law Dragon.
Tara has solely practiced family law since 1998. She has leveraged and transitioned her extensive in-court experience into a thriving Collaborative and mediation practice. Tara has served on the Board of the Collaborative Professionals of Washington since 2016, acting as Secretary in 2020 and Vice President in 2021, and is a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Tara has also received “Washington Super Lawyer” honors every year from 2017 to present.
Both Tara and Maya have been named Best Lawyers in America in Family Law every year since 2019.
Tara Katherine Richardson
PARTNER
A family law attorney since 1998, Tara’s practice focuses on Collaborative law and mediation. She knows a successful outcome is one that meets each client’s individual needs and goals, and excels at thinking outside the box to achieve creative solutions to complex issues.
When not in the office, Tara enjoys international travel and baking bread and desserts with her teen daughter.
Maya Trujillo Ringe
PARTNER
Maya has been practicing family law since 2004 and is the litigation core of Richardson and Ringe. Maya’s extensive courtroom experience enables her to guide her clients through the complexities of their case from start to finish. Maya's passion for problem-solving helps clients avoid court when possible, but prepares them for any scenario.
Outside the firm, Maya enjoys reading, traveling, and hiking with her dogs. She may also be spotted cheering on her sons in their various sporting activities.
Lindsay Bernstein
PARALEGAL
Lindsay has worked with Tara and Maya since 2010. She is creative, compassionate, dedicated, and responsive, and brings a warm touch our clients appreciate. Lindsay has a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing, and a Paralegal Certificate from the University of Washington.
Lindsay loves the great outdoors, especially with her dog, which she recently adopted from a rescue program in Mexico.
LEGAL ASSISTANT
Kaitlyn obtained her Bachelor’s in Law, Economics & Public Policy at University of Washington. Kaitlyn has worked in the legal industry since 2019 and is the administrative backbone of Richardson and Ringe. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in law, Economics & Public Policy from the University of Washington. Katie is smart, compassionate and dedicated to Richardson and Ringe clients. She brings a proactive approach to serving our clients.
Outside of the office you can find Kaitlyn crocheting and exploring the Beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Robyn Workman, pictured here, has retired, but her picture will remain until we can have our next photo shoot! Robyn was an amazing asset and integral to the beginning of our firm and she worked with Kaitlyn for 6 months to ensure a smooth transition. Thank you Robyn!
